Janisse Ray to Read at TTU

Janisse Ray, author of the award winning Ecology of a Cracker Childhood, will be reading from her work here at Texas Tech on Friday, November 13th, at 8 PM in ENGL 001. Ecology of a Cracker Childhood is the surprising and moving memoir of a childhood growing up in a junkyard in southern Georgia. Ray's elegant tale about family, rural clannishness, and the junkyard itself, is woven together by the story of a young girl's growing awareness of the longleaf pine ecology that surrounds her. A book signing and short reception will follow the reading.
